# How do I send a reminder about an open vote?

Vote managers can remind eligible members while a vote remains open. The reminder action is available from the vote detail page before the deadline.

> **Before you begin:** This action sends an external message. Confirm that the vote is open, the deadline is correct, and a reminder is appropriate before continuing.

## Send the reminder

1. Open **Votes → Items Requiring Action**.
2. Open the vote you want to review.
3. Check the description, deadline, response totals, and no-response list.
4. Select **Send Reminder**.
5. Follow the confirmation shown by BoardSite and verify the success message before leaving the page.

## If Send Reminder is not available

- A past-due vote displays **Reopen Vote** instead of **Send Reminder**.
- Your role may not include vote-management permission.
- The vote may not be available to your current committee or organization context.

> **Recipient check:** Review the response and no-response information on the vote detail page before sending. If you need to confirm exactly who will receive a reminder in your organization's configuration, test the workflow with a synthetic vote and test recipients first.
